What is the Tea Party?

In Uncategorized on May 7, 2012 by bearsearspatriots

Tell me, does this quote ring a bell with you: “I love my country, but am starting to fear my government.”

Of course, the modern day tea party grew out of what happened Dec. 16, 1773, when a group of American colonists dumped tea in Boston Harbor because of the “Tea Act” the British imposed on them.

A revolution began.

In the same spirit that flowed through these early American colonists, the American people of today are standing up to a government we are starting to fear.

The Boston Tea Party and the modern tea party movement have many things in common, but a comparison that stands out most to me is being misunderstood by those who are in government and many of the people in America at each respective time.

In 1773, the British called the early tea party “lawless,” and I’m sure some of the early day colonists agreed.

It’s much the same as you see the modern day tea party being called “racists, stupid or violent” as you are likely to hear from the lame stream media and from those who are in power in Washington, D.C., today.

But, I offer to you that these things were not true in 1773, nor are they true today.

Samuel Adams, a colonist of 1773, argued that the tea party of his time was “not the act of a lawless mob, but was instead a principled protest and the only remaining option the people had to defend their constitutional rights.”

To me, this statement fits today.

The tea party is millions of American people who are doing what we feel we have to do to bring back the freedoms and rights we have lost in recent history.

Let me give you some things the modern day tea party is not:

• We are not the Democratic Party.

• We are not the Republican Party.

• We are not a third party.

• We are not racist, violent or ignorant as some today have tried to make us out to be.

What are we then? Who are we?

We are the following:

• A people in support of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution as set forth by our Founding Fathers.

• We are about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This happiness is not having all our needs and wants taken care of at the expense of the taxpayer, but taking the opportunities we are given to be gainfully employed, making a living for ourselves and our families, and to lead a rewarding and successful life.

This is the true “pursuit of happiness.”

• We are about fiscal responsibility, the balancing of our local, state and federal budgets. We are about the end to the huge national debt we owe other countries around the world and which will be passed on to our children and grandchildren and their children and grandchildren if we do not do something to stop it now.

• We are about limited government, the same limited government that was hoped and fought for by those who went to war against the British and then formed this nation.

This limited government is responsible for protecting our basic human rights, the Bill of Rights. These rights are the rights given to us by the laws of nature, and of nature’s God, and are not rights given to us by other men. This will not be or should not be a government that takes away these rights or abuses them. This is the same limited government that was set forth in our Constitution.

• We are about a trust in God. This is a God that is a being of higher power and principles than ourselves, and we need this supreme being to help bring back this nation to greatness.

The Tea Party is actually what a lot of people of this nation are, and that is American citizens who want our country back.

Would the system of government we now have in the U.S. be recognized by our founding fathers or by those who lived in the 13 states that ratified our U.S. Constitution?

As I have become a much better student of American history since the 2008 National Elections than I was during my high school years, my offering of an answer to you is a resounding NO!

To explain my answer to you I think it is necessary to see what the American mind was like that caused us to declare our independence from the British, fight The Revolutionary War and come up with the form of government that they did.

The form of government that they came up with had to support the words and statements that were contained in the Declaration of Independence.  I believe that as you study the grievances that the Americans of that time period had against the British, which are contained in the Declaration of Independence, that you will see a British government that is similar in many ways to the form of government we have now. And is actually a form of government that our founding fathers were willing to lose life and property to go to war against.

Here are a few of the grievances listed in the Declaration of Independence.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. (Instead of government over regulation, EPA, Department of Education, etc.)

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them. (Arizona Immigration Laws)

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures. (To pass Obama Care)

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people. (Agenda 21 and the EPA)

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance. (Czars?)

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation: (United Nations?)

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent: (If you understand that when more paper money is printed the value of each dollar goes down, in effect the same as a tax to pay our enormous National debt)

Thankfully times are a little different now, then when America went to war against the British, we do have the right to vote given to us by our founding fathers. But I believe we are at a crossroads. Are we going to try and gain back the form of government our founding fathers created or are we going to keep progressing into a form of slavery that was detested by our founding fathers?

Does the U.S. need a budget?

In Uncategorized on December 17, 2011 by bearsearspatriots

Do you need a budget in your home or business?

I think we would all agree that anyone who has a part in running a household or business knows that if you do not set a budget, the economic state of that household or business will soon be in a very poor state.

We set monthly or annual budgets so that we will not pay out more than the amount of money we have coming in.  If there is no budget, there is, in essence, no limit on what we can spend or where we spend it, especially when we can use credit whenever we think we need or want something at that moment.  It becomes too easy, and over time, we becomes less and less concerned about how we’ll pay it back, and ignore the reality that we are just getting deeper and deeper in debt.

This has been the downfall of many a business and household.

Many families and businesses have realized the danger of just putting whatever they want on a credit card, and then doing without the things that they really need to pay off their enormous debt.  These families and businesses have realized they MUST set a budget and stick to it or suffer financial devastation.

It does not take a genius to know that if you don’t budget you may well soon be in dire financial straits.

OUR U.S.SENATE REFUSES TO SET A BUDGET BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF SPENDING BY OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.  All they have to do is have the Federal Reserve (which is not a U.S. Government entity) print more money and keep on spending.  Each and every dollar they print makes every other dollar that is in circulation in theU.S.worth less and less.  This ‘inflation’ of the dollar raises the cost of every product and service, and while this further burdens the average citizen financially, wealthy politicians are not nearly so affected and appear oblivious to the consequences as they drive our country’s economy – a country with over $15 trillion in debt – to ruin.  (And please note that this debt DOES NOT include our ‘unfunded liabilities’ to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and government-sponsored pension funds like Black Lung and Railroad Retirement, which are currently in excess of $100 trillion.)

To really understand the debt and economic trouble we are in, here is a simple example:

Now, assume a family of four, buying a home and going about their lives; total earned income is $100,000 a year. Using the same income-to-expense ratio (similar to the government’s income and spending ratio), this means that this family is spending over $162,000 a year, running up credit cards and taking out loans just to cover the extra $62,0000 a year to maintain their lifestyle.  Plus, they already owe $700,000 in debt for their home, all current loans, and credit card bills.  The interest alone on their existing loans and credit cards, etc., is over $19,000 a year.

One parent wants to go get another credit card to keep paying for their kids to go private school, help pay some of their regular monthly expenses, and still be able to spend on whatever else they may want.  The other parent says “No way!  We need to get our spending under control and stop living outside our means, even if it means doing without certain things!  Sell the cars!  Move to a smaller home! We can’t keep living like this!”

Which parent is the responsible one?  To fix the problem, it would mean a change in lifestyle.  The kids wouldn’t get the newest and best as soon as it comes out; no new cars for graduation; budgeting and planning meals; only eating out for special occasions; and there will probably need to be other necessary “sacrifices”.  But if that household continues, as is, then in the not-so-distant future, bankruptcy awaits.

Now, does this mean that family is in danger of defaulting on their loans? Yes, it is likely, if they do not change their spending habits.  Because there is still a decent income coming in, these consequences can be avoided by reducing their expenses to less than their income, and using the excess income to pay down their exorbitant debt, thereby reducing interest payments and eventually restoring fiscal sanity to the household.

(Note:  The figures used above come from the following website):

It has been 900 days since the U.S. Senate has set a budget for theUnited   States of America. That is almost 3 full years.

It is time for us, the American people, to hold our elected officials accountable for running our country in a fiscally responsible manner and stop putting future generations into more and more debt.

Our debt toChinaalone is staggering, andChinawill ‘own’ us someday IF WE DO NOT HOLD OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS’ FEET TO THEFIRE.

Ask our City and County officials what Craig andMoffatCountywould be like if they did not set annual budgets.

Please understand what our Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate is doing by not passing a responsible, realistic budget for this great nation ofAmerica:  They are driving us towards inevitable economic and social disaster.

Call your Senators, and encourage all your friends inColoradoand other states to call their Senators, as well.  Let our Senators know that we expect them to DO THEIR JOBS, and pass a fiscally-responsible budget and quit spending and borrowing this nation into ruin.

Please feel free to copy this letter and send it to anyone you know, especially ourU.S.Senators in every state of thisUnited States.

Here is an excellent website where you can obtain contact information for all Senate and House representatives.

Who are you leaning towards in next years Presidential election?

In Uncategorized on August 24, 2011 by bearsearspatriots

We at Bears Ears Patriots believe part of the problem that has happened with U.S. politics is that we have quit debating as a people on important issues in our nation. You learn facts you may not know about a topic by debate, and therefore learn to be more educated on a subject, even on who to vote for.

With that said lets start this debate.

Is the Tea Party coming to an end?

In Uncategorized on July 21, 2011 by bearsearspatriots

Many have said that the Tea Party in America is losing its value. Including Bill O’reilly saying it may be if as a group they don’t support some compromise on the debt ceiling debate.

What do you think and why?
